So I won a free pair of Siberia V2 headphones from Steelseries. That was cool and unexpected.

The Steelseries Siberia are the white headphones on the left. I’m not a huge fan of the headband suspension, the cups seem to apply more pressure above my ear than below. And the cups don’t rotate left or right so I have a lot of space below and near the back of my ears. I’d assume that would provide poor isolation, which is strange for closed headphones. The cables are thin but heavy with all of these extension cables/plugs. When listening to music, they were a little bass heavy. And as for gaming, testing out headphones can be a little tricky because I don’t know if I can hear footsteps and gunfire better because these are better or because I’m specifically listening for these things. And the retractable mic works… that’s all I got.

I really don’t know what to do with these. I do game and play FPSs like Call of Duty and Battlefield. But I wouldn’t buy headphones dedicated just to gaming. And I already own a nice pair of Sennheiser HD555 and a cheapo mic from Logitech that work great.
